Scribbles & Stories is a place for your student to confidently explore creative writing and storytelling. Currently, your creative collaborator, Becky Gardner, is providing writers a 6-week small group workshop (at a local park on Mondays and/or Wednesdays) or one-on-one Zoom meet-ups (flexible schedule as we navigate COVID-19).

6 Week Group Workshop – $150

Grades 3-8. The Group Creative Writing Class is a wonderful, 6 week opportunity for your child to get outdoors, social distance, and work through engaging writing exercises. No pressure to share, EVER, but the goal is to create a small writer’s workshop, building on creative ideas and methods, to result in a positive outlet for self-expression. Social Distancing measures will be employed to keep participants safe and engaged. We will meet at a local park on Mondays or Wednesdays. No more than 6 students/workshop. What’s included? 6, one-hour workshops, a writer’s block (mat to sit on), a journal, and “textbook”, Secrets of Storytelling, by Natalie Rompella. ALSO included, an introductory bonus 30-minute Zoom session. Class begins September 14th.

One-on-One Zoom Instruction – $199

Grades 3-10. The Zoom sessions are a 6 week opportunity to work through creative writing exercises and activities in your own home, on your own schedule. These sessions can be personalized to each individual student’s needs and interests. We will work on the sandwich method of story-telling, focusing on employing a beginning, middle, and end in our writing exercises. We will also use our time to build on concepts in journaling, magazines/newspapers, and free-writing to get creative and find stories. Scheduling is flexible. What’s included? 6, one-hour workshops, a writer’s block (mat to sit on), a journal, and “textbook”, Secrets of Storytelling, by Natalie Rompella, ALL sent to your home.
